Current News and Announcements
  • Transition Information for Students, Parents and Guardians

On February 21, 2017, the Nova Scotia government passed legislation to implement a contract for members of the Nova Scotia Teachers Union.

Please know the transition in schools will take some time. We know that our teachers have always been committed to providing the best education possible, so classroom learning and classroom-related activities for students will continue to be their priority.

Extra-curricular activities such as clubs or events may resume, however, this is at the discretion of staff organizers. The Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation will work with schools to determine the next steps for school sports.

We continue to ask that students who do not travel on buses arrive at school no earlier than 20 minutes before the start of classes, and stay after school no longer than 20 minutes after classes end. Your child’s school will communicate with you about changes to school arrivals and departures as needed or when more information is available.

Please continue to communicate with your child’s school if you have questions about your child's learning, supervision, schedules, extra-curricular activities or events.

    Thank you | Wela’lin | Merci
    Roberta Kubik, Superintendent of Schools
